Wooden churches

The wooden Greek Catholic church of St. Paraskeva, 1773, NKP

    The Greek Catholic wooden filial church was built in 1773. It was dedicated to St. Paraskeva. Both World Wars did not cause much damage. It was repaired only in 1956 - 1957.
    The church has three parts, three spaces, three towers with three crosses. It has a rustic construction, the tower pillar construction. The entrance is from the western part into narthex. Unique features of the church are that there are only two windows in the sanctuary and two in the nave. It is also characterized by an extremely high main tower.
    The iconostasis (National cultural monument – NKP) has five rows on five levels. Presumably it is from the 18th century, similar to the altar. It contains rare icons on the fifth row below the main icons, but the more common fourth row of prophets, and the top of the iconostasis are missing. The deacon doors have no leaves. The royal doors have two wings containing medallions of the four Evangelists and two medallions with the Annunciation. The first row contains the icons of St. Nicholas, Theotokos (Hodigitria), Christ the Teacher and St. Paraskeva, patroness of the church. The second row of feasts depicts the icons of the main church feasts. In the middle is the icon of the Last (Mystical) Supper, anomalously with thirteen apostles. The third row contains the icons of apostles with the icon of Christ the High Priest in the middle. The fifth row consists of icons below the main row – Holy Father Nicholas, Holy Family, Christ falling down under the cross and a fourth icon, which could not be identified. Precious is also the icon of Christ on the preparatory table, dated to the 18th century.
    Belfry - Northwestern from the church stands a massive wooden belfry on a low foundation. It is rectangular in plan. Upwards is narrowing. Construction is pillar. On the top is one-barred cross. In the belfry hangs a bell from 1839.
