The wooden Greek Catholic church of St. Michael Archangel, 1777, NKP

The wooden filial church was built in 1777. St. Michael Archangel was chosen to be the patron and protector of the church. In the 1930’s the church was transferred several meters higher than its original spot.
This church has, from an architectural point of view, three parts, three spaces, three towers and three crosses. The structure of the church is rustic. The tower has one column. The entrance is from the western part, leading into narthex. The church is built on an elevated stone foundation, which levels the slope of the terrain going west. A few steps elevate the entrance. The roof of the tower has the shape of a pyramid with an onion shaped top. Originally there were three bells, one of them having a weight of 200 kg. Now are also three bells hanging in the tower, one of them being from 1759. A distinctive element of the church is the covering of the roofing spaces between the tower and the nave, and between the nave and the sanctuary.
The iconostasis has a four-rowed architecture on four levels. It is dated to the 18th century with some of the icons being from 17th century. The first row consists of icons of St. Nicholas, Theotokos (Hodigitria), Christ the Teacher and St. Michael the Archangel. The deacon doors are not set with leaves. The royal, two leafed, doors contain six medallions with four Evangelists and scenes from the Annunciation. Following is the second row depicting feasts with icon of the Last (Mystical) Supper in the middle. The third row is adorned with icons of the apostles, divided in the middle by the icon of Christ the High Priest. The fourth row of prophets consists of ten medallions. The top of the iconostasis is finished with the crucifixion. On the sides are the figures of the Theotokos and St. John the Evangelist. Precious is also the icon of St. Nicholas from the 16th century.
The church was renovated in 1902 and also in 1946 - 1947. The present look of the church is the result of the renovation done in 2001 - 2002.
